Nic Tip – Breakfast Bowl at Coast 175
But seriously…how damn tasty can a dish get!?! Just had to come here and give a little tip, an little Nic Tip as I call it now;)If you are around Ettalong beach, eat at “Coast 175” and order their Breakfast Bowl. Yum! You cant see it in this picture because they forgot it and brought it out later to our table, but its suppose to be grilled halloumi (or persian feta if you like that) on top which makes this plate just …..perfect!
Its quinoa, peas, avocado, green beans, cucumber, poached eggs and seeds in some delicious light vinaigrette. Its light but filling and just pretty to watch haha. Order it!
Well that’s it from me today. We are staying at Ambrose’s parents house up the coast to chill out after the New Years Eve extravaganza. I am in AmbroseĀ“s comfy clothes, waiting for him to make us his famous chicken pies (one of my favorite dishes on this earth). The big plan for this evenings is to have pies and watch hours of a new series we just rented.
Best of all is that the weather is kind of cold:ish and windy. Perfect for our evening plans !

La Carnival

-Ending the Carnival madness with some take away onion rings for the ride home back to North Sydney-
A couple of days before the New Years it was time for some crazy “tradition” Ambrose has – The Carnival that comes to town. Let me just remind you that this is not some fancy schmanchy carnival with high tech stuff and glossy people. Nope, this is some scary carnival filled with weird people and rides that was hand build by the local drunk…
You come here if you want to see “cool” dudes with neck tattoos some friend draw on them in their parents basement. And you come here if you are interested in picking up teenage mums that smokes while breastfeeding their babies. But Ambrose LOVES going on rides so if we are driving by this place when its on ( its only once a year ) we have to go in!
Anastasia and Ambrose are so damn enthusiastic about the rides so they went and got unlimited rides wristbands! So annoying because me and Adam don’t like to go on these stupid “death-rides”, so we were basically phone and bag – holders while they were screaming on rides. But just look at these great pictures I got of them ! š
Love the sky here in Australia. Never been anywhere in the world where the sky is as majestic as here.
So if you are in Gosford between Christmas and New Years Eve and want to go on a “Risky Bizznezz” ride, this is your place!

2017
So even we said farewell to 2016 and welcomed 2017. Together with our friends, 95% humidity and a crazy heat, at The Coogee Pavillion.
As we were not at our apartment rooftop we missed the spectacular Sydney fireworks at midnight but we did see the 9 o’clock one and I loved loved loved it! Every time I see fireworks I get more obsessed by it. Know they cost alot, know they are “unnecessary”Ā and I do know they scare animals. Just cant help being so damn mesmerized by it…
The last minutes into the countdown was a bit dramatic and maybe not as planed but who cares. Got to spend it with great people, my love and at a beautiful place.
We ended the night (and started the first hour of 2017) with greasy Opotro burgers and fries, a little fight at the taxi line with some random little stump of a man before crashing into Bart & Karli’s apartment, loudly and intoxicated.
The next day I woke up from pain in my arm. Ambrose slept on the floor right under the couch I saw sleeping on. And because we are nerds and clearly not used to sleep separately we had somehow held hands like 2 weird otters half the night apparently.
I woke up before everyone else, like usual. Had a shower and then Karli made us all the restaurant quality breakfast. Kind of wish I had pictures to show how great it looked!And I guess their tradition is to go to the beach and swim. I do get it though, what else do you do in this heat mixed with humidity!?!
Bart slept, Kappa and Ambrose have ants in their pants and cannot stay relaxed at one place for more than 10 min so they swam,and then walked off to, well do whatever ADHD peope do. I just stayed on my beach towel learning about natural remedies and herbs from Karli.
Going to try some of the stuff she recommended and get back on how well it worked.Wish everyone have the best start on 2017 š

Harbour bridge
So I finally walked over this damn bridge….4 years later š Better later than never I guess. Aaannnnddd it was just like everyone describes it ; grand, powerful and cool. You get a perfect view over how beautiful this city really is.Love the last picture especially because its a perfect reflection over rich and poor. Its sick that that sort of shit even goes on in a country like this. The division between being in or out, valued or not. That we still have that even soon to year 2017 š
Anyway, the “ugly” (I think its really cool but..) building to the left is apparently getting pulled down anyway so I guess thats one way of sorting out the worlds problem hahaCant wait to see the fireworks going off from this bridge !! Sydney has the most spectacular fireworks and that is perfect for someone like me. I think its one of the coolest things ever! When I get married I want fireworks. Well I want fireworks at any occasion if I could have it.
I walked over the bridge quite early in the morning and I recommend to walk it really early or later in the evening. Middle of the day its way too hot and way too many people.

Home Alone
Hello dearest! Its the day before Christmas (at least where I come from) and I have never EVER had less Christmas feelings..
I am trying to explain to Ambrose but he doesn’t get it. Guess Christmas traditions are those you grew up with, of course I get that BUT, I miss the snow, smell of gingerbread and mandarins, the coziness. I miss riding pulka (whatever that is in English!?) and then come back in with frozen toes and drink hot Glƶgg and hot chocolate. I miss wearing those ugly oversized thick socks. I miss Christmas decorations and lights and I miss the when you get up to pee in the middle of the night and you suddenly see the big three filled with tingly stuff and nice shimmery lights. And I miss my family šNext year we are definitely spending Christmas somewhere warm and cozy, with my family. Ambrose promised me that.
Its not that we are not going to spend it with family, we are! And its going to be great. Its just that here there traditions are so weird (well,to me haha)
Its mangoes and lobster. Its BBQ and party. Its picnics and worst of all…they go to the beach. On Christmas. Suck!
If you make the decision to not be at home for Christmas and instead fly away with your family to somewhere warm, then fine! I get that! But this is there way of Christmas. Forever!hahahaha oh God I’m such shit š Okey I stop and instead spread some holiday joy by being grateful for our apartment starting to look more and more like a a home instead of just moving boxes!
I’m home alone. Cant even remember last time that happened. Ambrose had hid work Christmas party and straight after, Christmas party in the city with all his friends. First everything was fine, even watched a movie which almost never happens. But now I miss him and want him to be back already.

Wake board morning in Woy Woy
ā” ā” ā” So good at this !
A couple of days ago we had date with Tim & Mia, our friends who live in Brisbane. Like every typical Australian the date was to meet them 6 in the morning and go wake boarding at some place that used to be famous for having alot of sharks….I dont even ask questions anymore, I just wake up and tag along. There is no point, they all just laugh at my reaction to things anyway. Like I am joking.Tim and Mia has alot of exciting things going on. They are going to have a baby and they bought a very very cute puppy. She looks exactly like one of those adorable catalog puppies you see in commercials.
So Mia being pregnant and me being scared of sharks ( and wake boarding !) resulted in us being the cheerleaders of the even instead of being cook girls out in the water ! But next time I will definitely try. Hate missing out of things that looks amazing and fun just because of fear!
