Glow Worm Tunnel
I know I have been away from here for a couple of days, sorry about that. It has been a long-weekend here in Australia, God knows why, queen birthday again or something… It really doesn’t matter, we used these days to the fullest haha!
One of our friend was invited us to celebrate his 30th birthday on his parents farm 30 minutes outside of Mudgee. As you might remember, we used to live in Mudgee for a while. We have been planing to go back and visit for some time now, so this long-weekend plus Boner’s birthday was perfect.
We managed to squeeze in quite a lot of things on this trip, I have therefore decided to post them in separate post’s in here. Otherwise it will be way too long! Lets start with something I really recommend – The Glow Worm Tunnel. Its this an old rail tunnel, 40 kilometers outside of Lithgow NSW. Inside this 400 meter long tunnel, which is pitch black by the way, you find these worms that glow in the dark. Its magnificent, I’ve never seen anything like it.
The 33 km long road to get to this place is an old dirt road. If you are not Australian, you probobly dont understand what this mean. All I can tell you is that its rough to drive on, no, actually this road was shit to drive on. It takes about one hour because the road is full of big wholes. If you have a normal car, don’t even think about it. You need a robust 4WD car to make it true. And prepare yourself for a bumpy ride!
But its worth it! Now I am going to finish my breakfast and run some errands, feels good to be back home! More stories from our weekend away later today. xx

best bakery in north sydney
For 2 days now I have been going to this bakery in North Sydney called St.Honore’, that we found out is the bast bakery around this area. And both days I get there, not super early but around normal breakfast time, and everytime they sold out of almond croissant! Everytime!
I have not had one of those in like, years so it had to be the damn almond croissant, I just could not get myself to have some other unhealthy thing when all I wanted was the croissant. The girl who worked there actually advised me to call and reserve one (!) hahaha And like a true cookie monster I called them this morning and had one put aside for me.
That and one espresso while listening to the rain outside the window was my nice start of this day 🙂If you want to try it our for yourself reserve one here.

How to Improve your learning skills
Its around 2pm and I have been stationed on my lounge since this morning, organizing, working and structuring things. I recently bought a new beautiful calendar ( I know, a couple mounts too late into the year but….) and I am transferring bits and pieces into this calendar. Its very colorful and “childish” which I like. Brightens up a day!
While studying now, I came across something I wanted to share with you. A man named Edgar Dale made this “learning cone” back in 1969 that very simply explains how much we tend to remember of the things we learn, based on; Read, Hear, See, Say and Do. This is great knowledge in order to improve your learning skills.
It really motivated me to get up straight away after reading, listening to something and in some way act on it. Even for a short while, but just to get it print in my brain by doing some sort of exercise based on what I just learned.
Are you guys with me!?I had so many nightmares last night that were insane! But luckily I am not tired at all today. My plan was to go out to this highly recommended bakery in North Sydney, to have a almond croissant and a coffee. But its been poring down rain all day, the sky is grey and its really chilly in the air. So instead I have rugged up with the biggest, thickest socks I could find, I lit some candles and I am going to stay inside and have some work done and watch the rain from my big windows haha.
Lunch will be a fruit-salad mix of pineapple, bananas, oranges and grapes, because that’s all we have at home. And maybe a hot soup, seems to go hand in hand with a rainy day like this.

date night tuesday
This Tuesday has so far been pretty good. Neither of us got much sleep but got up around 7.30am, did my morning meditation, had the breakfast I have been obsessed with these last few days – mini sesame crackers with strawberry jam and cheese with green tea.
Then I had alot to catch up on at my volunteer place so took the bus there ( its in the middle of city, so absolutely no parking spots and therefore I leave the car at home)In the afternoon I came home, super tired from all the buzz and noise from the city. Worked a bit on my laptop in the lounge while admiring the sunset.
When Ambrose came home from the gym that evening we had date night planed so jumped in the car towards one of our favorite Japanese restaurants here in Sydney. Think there Ramen is voted something like top 3 in Sydney. Its called Ryo’s Noodles in Crows Nest. They dont take any reservations and its ALWAYS a long line outside so make sure you are there in time.
The original plan was to go to the movies first but we were both tired from lack of sleep, and we could not wait to get to our Ramen place! Afterwards we got some groceries for tomorrows dinner as we have friends coming over. We finished our night by going for a drive and singing along in the car.
Here is what I love about this city, almost everywhere you go, or get lost in has this perfect view or park or something. It was freezing cold so we only got a short stole in a little park overlooking the city.
Back at home now, had the longest hot shower and now I am about to fall asleep. Sweet dreams everyone. xx

weekend in pictures
Monday here and I am happy, lots going on, but I am still and very happy.
Lets have a look of some of the things that went on during the weekend 🙂
Spend some time doing long walk with Ambrose, here we are in a very windy Coogee. Ambrose had things to do so I asked him to drop me off in Bondi. As soon as I got out of the car I realized I left my phone, wallet, bus-card everything in the car. Did not have anyone’s number and started to freak out a bit when I realized I was stuck. Luckily I found a waitress who helped me out! Ambrose came back with my stuff and I could stay and do some work. With this view 🙂 🙂We have become regulars at the Spanish Tapas restaurant down the street from us! They serve great breakfast. I had salmon, truffle eggs, avocado and I swapped my grilled tomatoes for grilled halloumi. I don’t like hot tomatoes, weird but what can I say…
As I said, we really like the Spanish place so we booked table for their Sunday tapas & sangria specials. We had reservation for 2pm, think we finally ended up there after 4pm… But we had Kathleen, Heath, Bart and Kali over for some pre-sangria at our place and we had so much fun so non of us wanted to leave. After a couple of hours of bar hopping and gambling (here in Australia its very common to go to a pub and bet on horses) we got hungry again. Or maybe it was drunk-hunger, who knows but we got into this very Chinese restaurant that always looks amazing and started ordering well, everything. I was too busy enjoying so missed taking pictures but damn it was soooo good! We are definitely going back and I suggest anyone who likes a bit elevated Chinese food do the same. Location is: 101 Miller St, North Syndey

Night out in town
Good evening! or good day if you are in Europe 🙂
Here are the rest of our night out last Thursday. Such a perfect night!Started by taking the ferry again. best way to see most of Vivid I think.
I kind of wish they had the light show more often than once a year. I mean look at this magic!
We were all starving so after a quick stroll around the city, we headed to The Bavarian Bier Cafe’The bier, the food, the shots, the service, the atmosphere….. GO THERE!
Yum!After almost 3,5 h of eating, drinking and doing shots we headed to next amazing place; a whiskey bar hidden in an alley.
I love love love this city. One of my favorite cocktails, whiskey sour. And here they know how to make them perfect.
I will update this post with street names etc to all these places later. I have to go set up our night, we have tapas with an old movie coming up 🙂 Its raining outside so this feel perfect on a night like this. Enjoy your evening. xx________________________________________________

picnic in north Sydney
Even though I was a bit grumpy today turned out to be great! We just came home from a perfect night out in the city. More about that tomorrow, just wanted to show you what a nice picnic we had today in North Sydney.
For lunch today I made these lovely but easy fish tacos and then some fresh watermelon. With a great view thats all you really need 🙂
I made alot of food today as you can see, I was actually excused so I meditated in the sun in the afternoon and fell asleep straight after. I never ever sleep in the middle of the day! But it was good that I did, would not make the whole night in town otherwise 🙂Now sleep, more from tonight with lots of great tips for you guys in the morning. xx
