Road trip and Baby shower in Mudgee this weekend

When you have had enough vine at the Mudgee wineries you order coffee 😉

road trip and baby shower in mudgeeMake sure to drive and have a look at the cook nature around Mudgee

Italian dinner party with friends in Mudgee

Wine and cheese tasting with Bart and Kali in Mudgee

Always buying wine and port when we are here

Tomorrow this time we are on our road-trip to Mudgee. Oh I can’t wait! I have been in front of this screen literally all day, its tiring!  I am looking forward to the drive to Mudgee, singing along bad songs and eating ice-cream. We haven’t visited Mudgee for while now and I think both me and Ambrose can benefit from getting away for a weekend.

The reason we are driving there is our friends Burner and Tash are having their baby-shower on Saturday. Heath and Katelyn ( who stayed with us last weekend) are also driving up to Mudgee. Its going to be good having the old Mudgee friends together again.

Mudgee is this charming town about 4 hours drive from Sydney. I am not sure but I would say the town is probably most famous for its wineries. It also has a lot of great places to eat so if you are a foodie you wont be disappointed.

And it really is charming, nobody can deny Mudgee of that. If it would be closer to Sydney we might even still lived over there.

Now its time for me to close my laptop and throw it into the wall…. A bad joke, wont do that but it is actually what I feel doing now after 10 hours in front of it.
With that I am going to say bye for now. We are going to enjoy some take away Thai watching the sunset out on the veranda. If you can, I recommend you too to have a break from your electronic devices for the rest of the day.
    Ciao ♥

    Day plan list

Day plan list Jasmin and I in Barcelona

Thought I would manage to go to bed and relax around 8.45 pm tonight. I just finished writing down my “day plan” – like a to do list for tomorrow (something I highly recommend. Read more  HERE ) and I see that the time is mow 9:30 pm.
So much for that super early night…

But I did not want to go to sleep before saying goodnight here as well haha.
The exciting news of today is that I might be traveling to Europe after all. I sat down and made a list of everything that I actually could do if I went there and it was quite a long list; Insurance, Dental, Dr visits, especially for my new allergies. Meeting with my lawyer, organizing things with both my Spanish and Swedish banks, and of course the main reason for this trip – pick up my Spanish police record and finally getting our Visa.

All these things above just stresses the shit out of me. But what would be nice is to see my family, my friends, eating persian food and having “un cortado” (espresso in Spain ) in Barcelona together with my sisters ♥♥

    Good night, sweet dreams. xx

how to get a police record from Spain with the help of an power of attorney

We are planning a Mad Hatters Ball at my volunteering job. So much fun after the madness at the Consulate

What a day! Well at least the fist half of it which was easily the most frustrating time of this month.Maybe this whole year (only 2 months so far but still…)

Since we have got no answers from neither the Australian Immigration department, the government or anyone else we reached out to, I decided to once again visit the Spanish Consulate here in Sydney. I arrived 8:45 am, they opened 9 am. Aaaannndddd I was there dealing with them over ONE piece of document until 11:30.

It is, by far the most disorganization and weird organization I’ve ever visited! I somehow got an appointment for 14th of March. This means that I might not have to travel all the way back to Spain to pick up my Spanish Police clearance.

This is the only document left for us to hand in before we receive our de facto visa.

Here is how to get a police record from Spain with the help of a power of attorney :

    – Find someone you trust to be your “Power of Attorney” in Spain.

    – Send an email to the Spanish Consulate with these details: Full name. Date of Birth. Passport number and expiry date. NIE number. Address. This goes for both you and the person you assigned as your “Power of Attorney” in Spain.

    – Send all this to the Spanish consulate, don’t forget to attach a PDF of your passport. On their website there is a form to fill in and attach as well. In your email, ask for an appointment.

    – Bring your passport to this appointment at the Spanish Consulate, you and someone there will need to sign a document  that proves you have now given the right to your “Power of attorney” in to collect your needed document (police clearance in my case) in Spain.

    – Send this document to your assigned attorney who will then need to bring identification together with your signed document to Ministero de Justica and will be able to collect what you need.

    My happy place

my happy place♥ Alexander & Emilia – they are my happy place  ♥

    Happy Sunday everybody,

This weekend has been a lot of mixed feelings. And all of it has been taking too much attention from me to even think about writing something here.

    Friday:

I received a call from my family with very sad news. I felt totally overwhelmed and helpless that I just cried. It is never easy when you get bad news about people you care so strongly for. Its even harden when you are in such distance from them. You just can’t do anything and you feel useless. Luckily Ambrose was there, my rock.

    Saturday:

Our friends Kathryn and Heath came to stay for the weekend. We have literally been to ever beach around the coast. Both Saturday and Sunday ( when also Mike came to join us) we all have been having a great time doing what you do with friend. Eat, drink, play games, swim, surf….
Very glad they all came, took my mind of all of Friday’s sadness.
Today we all went for a long brunch at Coast 175. I’ve said it may times – one of my favorites if you are ever up the coast looking for good food.

We have been spending rest of the afternoon working around the house, cleaning the car and sorting out our (mine) million product in the bathroom. Now dinner and maybe a movie after, totally exhausted after this weekend 🙂 xx

Willpower and decision fatigue explained and how we can use it to reach our goals

Lets dig right into this topic because I believe the Willpower and decision fatigue explained and how we can use it to reach our goals title woke up your interest right away if you are interested in this sort of stuff. I know I am!

Our willpower gets depleted with every decision we make. This is why successful people such as Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg wears same outfit.

    Conclusion:
Willpower might NOT be the best answer in order to achieve your goals.

    Solution:

    1. Plan everything the night before
      – This will reduce your decision fatigue for the next day.
      – e.i : put out the outfit to wear. Prepare breakfast. Plan when to go to grocery store and have a list on what to buy. Write down your What if then List.
    2. Work on your goals first thing in the morning
      – The amount of our “willpower” is at its highest in the mornings. Why? Because we haven’t reached Decision Fatigue yet.
      so…..
make sure to tackle your goals first 30 min in the morning.
    3. Pre-Commit
      – If you feel accountable you are more likely to stick with the commitments you’ve made.
      – e.i : Book courses with deadlines. Prepay memberships or courses you know will benefit you. Make plans to exercise with a friend. If you already promised someone to show up, you are less likely to back out.
    4. Use the 5 Second Rule
      – According to Mel Robbins whenever you have an instinct to act on something, you MUST physically move within 5 seconds. Otherwise your brain will talk you out of it.xx

    site makeover

    site makeover

Looking super serious for no damn reason…

I have some exciting news, this site is going to get a fresh makeover, We have so many good ideas that have been going back and forth for a while now. But the site makeover is finally about to happen and I think you guys are going to like it more.
I don’t want to go true too much of the site makeover details, but one of the reasons I am looking forward to it is because  I believe it will provide a broader content that will comply with a broader audience.
Well its hard to explain without giving away too much. And the reason why I am being secretive about the whole makeover is not to sound cool but because we need to finalize the site details.

We are aiming for the new site to be out by Wednesday next week!

It’s funny because this site started as a place for me and Ambrose to show “prove” our relationship for the Australian immigration. That didn’t work out as planned since Ambrose has not contributed once since we started this site 😉
Then it also turned into  a place my friends and family back in Europe could read about my everyday life after i choose to move across the world.
Looking back now, somewhere along the way this site developed into my private journal. Well maybe not so private but it is has been both amusing and interesting to go back and see what I was doing a couple of years back.

The last part – private journal, is my favorite. This site acts as a great reminder of all the good times. But it also reminds me how sometimes what you write is totally dishonest. Not what appends but how some pictures and description of a day seems really amazing but you really just felt like shit.

And that is one major detail that will change in this so-called site makeover.
The intention of this site is honest, authentic and kind of a “it is as it is” mentality as my favorite guy Eckhart Tolle said.

How to be a tourist in Bowral in 24h

I promised to come back with the details from the recovery in Bowral. Recovery is what they call the day after the wedding. Not sure if we have a word for it in Sweden but, whatever they are called I think it’s a great idea to have them. It’s quite nice to catch up with everyone the day after a wedding and talk about the big day. Especially if you have  destination wedding where people have traveled a long way. Often, the bride and groom don’t have enough time to catch up with all of their gusts, that’s when recoveries come in handy.

However, after rambling on and on about this recovery in Bowral, it turns out I only took one picture from that event…
Need to get back to you on that after I find some pictures. Sorry.

Lets instead have a look into how to be a tourist in Bowral in 24h:

how to be a tourist in Bowral in 24hSmall alleys with charming café’s and shops.
Bowral is a perfect little town to just stroll around in.

Right after we arrived in Bowral we had set a lunch-date with Tim, Mia and this amazing little creature – Millie

The recovery took place about 10 minutes outside Bowral, at Briars Inn – Moss Valle

Our friend Nour recommended this little pastry place in Bowral.

As you can see both from my face and the awards all over their window…  lets just say this bakery is worth a stop when you are visiting Bowra. We tried their sausage roll, pulled pork pie and their almond croissant. Its called Gumnut Patisserie located on Bong Bong street.

    Centennial Vineyards

how to be a tourist in Bowral in 24hWe did stop to have a quick look at some of the wineries in Bowral. Non of us felt like wine-tasting, instead we enjoyed the beautiful estates and vineyards. And one more thing. This is quite strange but if you like tree’s, Bowral is the place for you. hahah I have never seen that many different types of amazing tree’s in one spot.

Mike & Lucinda’s Wedding in Bowral

Another weekend, another beautiful wedding. This time it was our friends Mike and Lucinda who we were celebrating. Their wedding was in Bowral, a cute town about 1.5 hours from Sydney. After the wedding ceremony we went of for some drinks at the Gibraltar Hotel and then we were all off to Centennial Vineyards for the wedding reception.

The place was really beautiful, especially their terrace. Both me and Ambrose got reminded of Mudgee while walking around the property. Actually the whole of Bowral reminded us a lot of Mudgee. More about the town and the recovery tomorrow, lets have a look at Mike and Lu’s special day…

    Btw, I love weddings!
