La Perouse
A couple of days ago Ambrose took me to a great spot – La Perouse. Seriously this guy should be a tour guide! I sell his tour services in anyone is interested 😉
And as always I got a little history lesson about this place. Dont remember it all but basically this is the location the french and the britts first arrived when they came to Australia. They fought over the land and because the britts won this is now a British colony. Could as easily have been a french colony which is very fascinating to me!Location info #2 is that Mission Impossible 11 was filmed here. That island in the picture was the “forth” in the movie and apparently Tom Cruise drove over the bridge in from of me as in got blown to pieces by the bad guys. Maybe I should see the movie…
Anyway, this is suppose to be a great spot to scuba dive and snorkel but the water was not that clear so I saw no fish this time 🙁

McMahoons Point in Sydney
Started with a (not so nice) breakfast at Piato in McMahons Point
Look at these majestic tree trunks!!
Finish the afternoon off with a dip. Only thing to do when its 40 C
Anastasia came over for a full day. We started with breakfast around 7AM at Blues Point Road. They liked it and the atmosphere is super nice but I will not return for breakfast there. Not a disaster, just not so great.
Anyway, after we took the ferry which has become our favorite way to get around nowadays, to Circular Quay. We strolled around in Pretty The Rocks. Since it was still early morning I guess the heat wave had not hit the city yet. But it did, wholy shit how it did! I don’t do so well with humidity haha, or at least my hair don’t…We decided to have lunch in North Sydney instead of in the City. I made these poor people move around like 3 different restaurants before we went back to place we started. Its called The Terrace and I can tell you, their burgers are Wow, really really recommend that for burgers.
Afterwards there was nothing else to do but to just go to the pool. It was windy as hell but still better than walking around in 40 degrees.
The afternoon we had planes to have a BBQ at Bart and Karli´s new place in Bronte together with everyone else. We picked up Kappa and Hilary at the boys house and got to Clovelly a couple of hours before the bbq to go snorkeling. Somehow, I really still don’t understand what happened, but it got to be way too many people for the bbq at their apartment so the location changed to bbq at the beach at Bronte. Then it changed to be no bbq at all….. then we planed to go to some Pub for dinner, that changed because John did not want to eat there bla bla bla. hahaha It was all good at the end, we all managed to get our shit together and have dinner at The Clovelly Hotel.

This City – bit by bit
The heat dropped a couple of degrees so I went out and about in the city. First stop was Paddy’s Market in china town but that turned out to be a very short visit. I have been here before a couple of years ago, and like then I was, I don’t know, feeling like I could not get out of there fast enough. Don’t ask me why, but its something about this place that not resonates with me. Next stop was Darling Harbour. again, it was years ago I was here and it was nice to see it again! There are constructions going on everywhere but still very much worth a visit if you’re in the city.
By now it was lunch and I really really wanted Ramen but when I got there it was closed so a random Noodle soup got to be it. Very tasty actually:)
The Chinese Garden of Friendship in Darling Harbour got to end my touristic day in the city. I could have gone for hours but the heat is just not for me 🙂 🙂
Even from the outside this garden is wonderful

Nic Tip – Breakfast Bowl at Coast 175
But seriously…how damn tasty can a dish get!?! Just had to come here and give a little tip, an little Nic Tip as I call it now;)
If you are around Ettalong beach, eat at “Coast 175” and order their Breakfast Bowl. Yum! You cant see it in this picture because they forgot it and brought it out later to our table, but its suppose to be grilled halloumi (or persian feta if you like that) on top which makes this plate just …..perfect!
Its quinoa, peas, avocado, green beans, cucumber, poached eggs and seeds in some delicious light vinaigrette. Its light but filling and just pretty to watch haha. Order it!
Well that’s it from me today. We are staying at Ambrose’s parents house up the coast to chill out after the New Years Eve extravaganza. I am in Ambrose´s comfy clothes, waiting for him to make us his famous chicken pies (one of my favorite dishes on this earth). The big plan for this evenings is to have pies and watch hours of a new series we just rented.
Best of all is that the weather is kind of cold:ish and windy. Perfect for our evening plans !

La Carnival
– Me and Anastasia behaving like children:) –
-Ending the Carnival madness with some take away onion rings for the ride home back to North Sydney-
A couple of days before the New Years it was time for some crazy “tradition” Ambrose has – The Carnival that comes to town. Let me just remind you that this is not some fancy schmanchy carnival with high tech stuff and glossy people. Nope, this is some scary carnival filled with weird people and rides that was hand build by the local drunk…
You come here if you want to see “cool” dudes with neck tattoos some friend draw on them in their parents basement. And you come here if you are interested in picking up teenage mums that smokes while breastfeeding their babies. But Ambrose LOVES going on rides so if we are driving by this place when its on ( its only once a year ) we have to go in!
Anastasia and Ambrose are so damn enthusiastic about the rides so they went and got unlimited rides wristbands! So annoying because me and Adam don’t like to go on these stupid “death-rides”, so we were basically phone and bag – holders while they were screaming on rides. But just look at these great pictures I got of them ! 🙂
Love the sky here in Australia. Never been anywhere in the world where the sky is as majestic as here.
So if you are in Gosford between Christmas and New Years Eve and want to go on a “Risky Bizznezz” ride, this is your place!

Chinatown
So much to choose from!
A must for Ramen lovers
Tonkutsu 10.5 $
We had a couple of days where I literately though I was going to melt. It was around 40 degrees hot and the humidify…..ohhh that damn humidity, it must have been like 99%. I saw a lizard in the house the other day (even they are getting inside to survive the heat haha) and because I grew up in Sweden where its too cold for anything living to survive, I am NOT used to living creepy things crawling around my home! Ambrose and his family don’t understand me at all so while I was screaming and jumping on our bed Ambrose was calmly licking an ice cream and observing his father petting that damn thing.
Ever since that incident I have been hiding in our bedroom but finally I had enough and went to the city. It was drizzling rain all day which is such a relief after those days with the heat from hell. After my Microdermabrasion appointment in the morning I head towards Chinatown. A place that is really lovely actually and often forgotten to visit while you are in Sydney.
There are alot of inviting restaurants once you walk along hhe area, but I read a recommendation on a Ramen place. This place has no fancchyyy paanschyy stugg going on. No hip decor, no table service. Nothing. Its actually located in a small corner inside a food court. This place is filled with squished in little “restaurants with all types of Asian cuisines. If you are here, trust me do choose the Ramen place. You wont be disappointed. I promise you.
Their specialty is Tonkutsu Ramen which is that thick broth made out of pork bones, fat and collagen. They cook it for hours and hours to be able to get that creamy, buttery and rich broth which symbolize a perfect Ramen.
They do have many varieties of RAmen here but if you are after the Tonkutsu, avoid visiting between 3-5pm as this is the time the pork bone is removed from the broth and preparation for dinner is done. Its called; Gamushara Ramen
211/ 25-29 Dixon St, HaymarketFun fact! Gamushara is the meaning of doing something so intensely and extremely so that you forget how it affects the people or environment around you. 🙂
