The Tama House
Hello dear old friend’s 🙂
I have to say, I feel that over here around every corner I turn, it seems to be yet another beautiful place. I mean just look at this view for instant. I’ve only been to the house at night when the boys were having one of their parties so I have never actually seen how great it also is during the day. My friend Safae is staying here for a couple of days and we decided to chill at the tama house ( its in Tamarama, therefore the name ) until the afternoon, just to avoid the worst sun hours of the day.
We had some chilled coconut water and avocado on gluten-free toast, which is very very typical Australian thing to have, and we sat on the terrace for hours talking about pro’s and con’s of living in in Australia and other countries. Safae is born in Morocco but lived in USA most of her life. After boiling (even in the shade) on the terrace we walked down to Bondi Beach for a afternoon swim and people watching. That was my Tuesday, such a good day with Saf like always 🙂 !
We each had one Messina Ice-cream for the road before I went back to the city to have dinner with Ambrose and Leonard.

La Perouse
A couple of days ago Ambrose took me to a great spot – La Perouse. Seriously this guy should be a tour guide! I sell his tour services in anyone is interested 😉
And as always I got a little history lesson about this place. Dont remember it all but basically this is the location the french and the britts first arrived when they came to Australia. They fought over the land and because the britts won this is now a British colony. Could as easily have been a french colony which is very fascinating to me!Location info #2 is that Mission Impossible 11 was filmed here. That island in the picture was the “forth” in the movie and apparently Tom Cruise drove over the bridge in from of me as in got blown to pieces by the bad guys. Maybe I should see the movie…
Anyway, this is suppose to be a great spot to scuba dive and snorkel but the water was not that clear so I saw no fish this time 🙁

McMahoons Point in Sydney
Started with a (not so nice) breakfast at Piato in McMahons Point
Look at these majestic tree trunks!!
Finish the afternoon off with a dip. Only thing to do when its 40 C
Anastasia came over for a full day. We started with breakfast around 7AM at Blues Point Road. They liked it and the atmosphere is super nice but I will not return for breakfast there. Not a disaster, just not so great.
Anyway, after we took the ferry which has become our favorite way to get around nowadays, to Circular Quay. We strolled around in Pretty The Rocks. Since it was still early morning I guess the heat wave had not hit the city yet. But it did, wholy shit how it did! I don’t do so well with humidity haha, or at least my hair don’t…We decided to have lunch in North Sydney instead of in the City. I made these poor people move around like 3 different restaurants before we went back to place we started. Its called The Terrace and I can tell you, their burgers are Wow, really really recommend that for burgers.
Afterwards there was nothing else to do but to just go to the pool. It was windy as hell but still better than walking around in 40 degrees.
The afternoon we had planes to have a BBQ at Bart and Karli´s new place in Bronte together with everyone else. We picked up Kappa and Hilary at the boys house and got to Clovelly a couple of hours before the bbq to go snorkeling. Somehow, I really still don’t understand what happened, but it got to be way too many people for the bbq at their apartment so the location changed to bbq at the beach at Bronte. Then it changed to be no bbq at all….. then we planed to go to some Pub for dinner, that changed because John did not want to eat there bla bla bla. hahaha It was all good at the end, we all managed to get our shit together and have dinner at The Clovelly Hotel.

Snorkeling
Today and yesterdays was all about snorkeling. Well, yesterday everyone went and I sat at the rocks in Clovelly watching them all. Why? Because I am scared as hell of absolut everything thats going on in the ocean! But today Ambrose convinced me to give it a try AND I absolutely loved it! I even saw one of these big blue fishes ( don’t know the name)
Now we are going to get me a pair of snorkeling set. So this is my thing now 🙂After snorkeling we picked up Karli and went back to ours for a BBQ at the roof. After a short dip in the pool we realized its way too windy so the BBQ quickly changed to drinks and dinner in the apartment instead. Our first (unplanned) dinner done!
Tonight its homemade burgers and movie night at our place. Cant wait to spend time alone with Ambrose.

Catching up with pretty little Saf
I finally got to see a friend from the old days. Not going to say the”good” old days because I loved things then, and I also love things now! But it was really so good to catch up with her. She is such a kind, generous and fun friend and I’ve missed those days when we did these sort of stuff ; sit on the Bondi grass discussing life.
On my way home that day I realized that one quality I value in a friend is their ability to handle deep talks about life and mixing it up with unimportant stuff such as the latest goss 🙂
I mean, if you one have one or the other you die or boredom! Or at least I would haha. And Safae has that quality. And I love that about her. After sitting “traditionally” on the grass for a while we moved over to The Bucket List where we have spend countless hours over the years. Its still very much the same ; beautiful people who spent a hell of a lot of time trying to look like they haven’t made any effort at all Hahaha. So nice…
We ordered in bottle of vine and then Cecile and her partner came by for a late lunch of buckets of fresh prawns, fish tacos and barramundi burgers. Forgot how good the food is over there! One of the things that always come up is whether or not we would move back to the “Bubble”…
There is something about this place that is hard to explain for those who have not lived there. Me and Safae tried our best and the only thing we could come up with is that its like this place has an mist of magic over it ( please understand that my English is shit and me explaining things is a bad mix of Persian,Swedish and Italian and then putting into English words! )
Bondi is like Disney land. Its not real. That s what I mean when I say mist of magic. It kind of lures you in to believe that its all wonderful when in fact, honestly I have never met so many damaged and depressed people in any other country or place I lived. Don’t get me wrong. IT IS wonderful and I had some of my best memories ever from the time I lived here. I just believe that coming here and believing this place don’t have any ugly side is totally and utterly wrong.
And I think one of the reasons is that this place is stupidly beautiful, the beach, the restaurants, the people, the homes, the shops, the views.
And everyone and everything is trying their hardest to maintain this image. The image of absolute perfection. And that’s where it goes wrong. That’s where people secretly start to feel bad. because nothing and no one can keep up “perfection” forever. Isn’t perfection all of it anyway ? The good, the bad and the ugly? Isn’t that what is Life?
And trying to fake that…well I guess the “Bubble” then inevitably burst.Yeeezzuuuss Christ this was the most depressing writing ever! Hahaha!!
Please go to Bondi Beach. I loved it and you will love it too for sure!
Its truly a wonderful place and I love that I can call it one of my “home’s” in the world.♡♡♡♡♡♡_______________________________________________

2017
So even we said farewell to 2016 and welcomed 2017. Together with our friends, 95% humidity and a crazy heat, at The Coogee Pavillion.
As we were not at our apartment rooftop we missed the spectacular Sydney fireworks at midnight but we did see the 9 o’clock one and I loved loved loved it! Every time I see fireworks I get more obsessed by it. Know they cost alot, know they are “unnecessary” and I do know they scare animals. Just cant help being so damn mesmerized by it…
The last minutes into the countdown was a bit dramatic and maybe not as planed but who cares. Got to spend it with great people, my love and at a beautiful place.
We ended the night (and started the first hour of 2017) with greasy Opotro burgers and fries, a little fight at the taxi line with some random little stump of a man before crashing into Bart & Karli’s apartment, loudly and intoxicated. The next day I woke up from pain in my arm. Ambrose slept on the floor right under the couch I saw sleeping on. And because we are nerds and clearly not used to sleep separately we had somehow held hands like 2 weird otters half the night apparently.
I woke up before everyone else, like usual. Had a shower and then Karli made us all the restaurant quality breakfast. Kind of wish I had pictures to show how great it looked! And I guess their tradition is to go to the beach and swim. I do get it though, what else do you do in this heat mixed with humidity!?!
Bart slept, Kappa and Ambrose have ants in their pants and cannot stay relaxed at one place for more than 10 min so they swam, and then walked off to, well do whatever ADHD peope do. I just stayed on my beach towel learning about natural remedies and herbs from Karli.
Going to try some of the stuff she recommended and get back on how well it worked.Wish everyone have the best start on 2017 🙂
