the hot Christmas party of 2016
Yesterday we went to Manly for this wears work Christmas lunch. It was Ambrose’s co-worker Lisa who had invited us all in. Her house was stunning, right my this cozy bay (behind me in the last picture ) at the end of Manly. We sat out in here courtyard drinking champagne and crispy Muscat wine as more and more people started to drop in. After a while of mingling with people from Ambrose work and their partners we sat down for lunch. Lisa had made slow roasted pork, coal slaw, fries, roasted pumpkin salad, falafel, tomato and basil bruchetta’s and so much more. It was all so delicious! She was really a good host.
Afterwards we continued drinking but some wanted to go for a swim, so we quickly packed up an eski with drinks and walked down the 50 meters of whatever it was from her house to the beach.By this stage I think all of us were a bit drunk so after watching the sunset at our picnic we went back to the house for deserts. One lady had made Japanese white chocolate cheesecake and a spongecake. Another girl had made a carrot cake. Such talents! haha I cant even make pancakes!! (my attempt last week was a total failure 🙁 )
But I managed to get a massage appointment for last week. One of the guys studies remedial massage and I’m going to his school next week. And the Japanese woman Yukoko and I found out we both share the same interest – trying out restaurants so we planed to go to this new Persian place in Hornsby. We exciting, maybe Ive got a friend hahaha
We had a really good time but Christmas feelings……when its humid and 30 degrees….. I don’t think so.

Open for Inspection
We thought this beautiful place would be our next home!
Just look at it! Reminds me of Napoli.
And then we went inside…. 🙁
So we kept looking
Last Saturday we drove to Sydney for some house inspections. Loved the first one in Potts Point! I mean just look at that building, the mailboxes, the street its on!! The real estate guy told us that the place has no view. What he clearly meant what that it had NO WINDOW 🙁
And for one room witch would be our living room slash kitchen slash bedroom (the real “bedroom” was too small to fit any kind of bed) he asked for 3 references and IF they would consider us we first had to have an interview with the board Zzzzzzzz
So we moved on to some other places, this time – Bronte. We liked one of them, and so did like 50 other people who were there for the inspection. It was 15 min walk to the beach and about the same distance to Bondi Junction. And we would be close to alot of our friends. But still, I cant quite get how even I now think its okey to charge around 14.000 SEK a month for shit places like this!?!
Back in Europe I would not even walk up the stair to look at this hahah. I kept telling Ambrose that for these rent prices you would get a penthouse with a maid back in Barcelona. Strange how us people tend to normalize things than should really be unacceptable. But now we are here and we do the best of the situation I guess 🙂My home on Hall Street
My home on Glenayr Avenue
My home on Curlewis Street
As I walked around I realized how many times I moved around. How many places I called my home. 6 countries so far. Cant even remember all my addresses. Anyway, here are 3 homes of mine in Bondi Beach.
And nooowwww back to Game of Thrones season 6. We only have 5 episodes left and I bet we will be up all night going true them. Going to be very hard to get up 5:20 tomorrow. But, totally worth it 🙂

Last night in the eastern suburbs …..
I strolled around my old neighborhoods while Ambrose and Kappa went for a surf in these massive waves
They made fun of poor Adam because he is shorter than these giants
Ending the night with dinner at Hurricane

Coral
Bored waiting in the car to pick up Ambrose. Think I sent stupid snapchats to everyone I know! haha
Sorry everyone 🙂
On our drive back home we did a few stops.
Somehow I managed to sleep with my contacts in last night!?! That has not happened since I was a “cool” teenager who was out partying all night and often slept over friends houses. haha
Anyway, because of that little incident I decided to stay home half of the day to just rest my eyes. I have -6.5 so not its not like I can function out in the world without my contacts or glasses. Luckily Anastasia came by and picked me up for a lunch.
Tomorrow Ambrose has a day off so we want to get up early and make a day of it. Now off to bed to watch an episode of “Bob´s Burgers”. Big recommendation here. LOVE Tina and Gene. 🙂

And just like that, this pretty little weekend ended. It Monday morning and I’m sitting at a cafe in Gosford having breakfast. Waiting for the dry cleaner to open, leave the clothes with them, then post office to pick up the shoes I ordered and then, very very excited about this…. I start my course in NLP 🙂
Happy Monday! 🔆🔆🔆 -
13 hours
Walked Ambrose to work. Best views!
“Brewtown Newtown”. A must try for breakfast and their excellent coffee.
Sums up the “looks” of Newtown. Very charming. Very London.
Christmas decorations are up at QVB.
Swarovski were clearly in charge of the Christmas decor.
Going Malaysian for dinner.
Had such an looongg day in the city yesterday. We drove to Sydney around 5:50am. Got to walk over this little bride that gave us the best view! We had some coffees in the park right outside Ambros’s office, everything was great but just when he left for work I just found myself overwhelmed with all these draining thoughts that I actually had 10 hours to kill (!) before we were meeting for the couples massages I had booked us in for earlier this week….
Lately I have found myself feeling exactly like this. Overwhelmed, anxious, sad and its just so annoying. What is the worst is that I am tired, and I don’t mean a little, I mean like extremely tired. Absolutely exhausted. Just the other day I called Ambrose because I got really scared after driving the car back home and I realized that I was like an zombie, completely out of it like I was tired and drunk at the same time. And this is while driving on a very busy road!
Now I know I understand that alot has changed. I was super busy at my last job as a coordinator at Karolinska Hospital. We were just in the process of re-recruiting and totally re-restructuring the entire organization of the hospital and this is one of Europe´s biggest and most influential University hospitals so there was alot all the time. Right around this time I was in a accident, the bus I was on had a big crash and I (and others on the bus) really hurt my neck. Ever since that alot have changed, in my daily routines, my overall health and even though I continuously have been to Dr´s and physiotherapy, I’m still in alot of pain everyday. This alone makes me tired and now that we are waiting to receive our Partner Visa I am not aloud to anything in Australia. Being injured and on hold for a Visa turns out to be a very very bad combination hahaha.Anyway, enough of this. Just wanted to write this down, to get it off me a bit but also because writing is suppose to help when we overthink. And when you have as much free time as I do, well then you over-analyze EVERYTHING 🙂
Here was our lovely Thursday; Breakfast at “Brewtown Newtown” was something I do recommend! I had the poached chicken,bacon,tomato/salad and orange aioli sandwich and iced coffee with sparkling water. Please do order that! Just have a look at their menu: http://www.brewtownnewtown.com/
No Wifi. Decent prices. Sparkling water to the table instead of just plain tap which is very nice. A broad range of interesting and delicious coffee´s. Excellent variety to eat. cozy and trendy atmosphere, but gets very busy. Friendly staff. Will definitely return to this place. Then I wondered around the city. Newtown in the morning, met Ambrose midday to look at a apartment for us in Crows Nest. Unfortunately it was to small for us, but I loved the neighborhood. Back to the inner city and finished our day with a couples massage and then went to China Town for excellent Malaysian dinner on Sussex St. We have no real experience of this cuisine so we just ordered alot of different dishes and hoped for the best! Really yummy, unfortunately I don’t know the name of the restaurant.
Drove back home 13 hours later. We both fell asleep 2 seconds after our heads touched the pillow.

Monday Off
Luckily Ambrose is off this Monday so we had an extra day to spend time together. Mondays are my favorite day of the week, it always have been. We slept long, mostly because we lied in bed watching “Bob´s Burgers” until well pasted midnight so I was really tired when I woke up. Anyway, here I am trying something new, and yet delicious at now our favorite breakfast place – “This little Piggy” Its toasted pumpkin bread, prosciutto, smashed avocado and lime, Persian feta, rocket and eggs. Again DO VISIT this place when you are around. God they are good at what they do!
We had a quick drive to see if it was worth getting into the water, but because the temperature had dropped down from 35 (yesterday) to just above 20 something today we skipped it. Instead we drove to Hornsby for shopping and some sushi.Tonight is the Super moon so back home now, planing where best to go to see it. Happy Moon day everyone 🙂

Weekend in Newcastle
We are totally collapsed on the couch after our short but intense weekend in Newcastle. Ambrose had a couple of friends who are moving out of their house and I guess wanted to have one last house party as a grand finally. Now I have been to quite alot of house parties. I grew up in Sweden where home parties were very popular growing up. (because its so damn cold to go outside I guess 🙂 ) But I have never felt as this misplaced. Ever. Every stereotype imagine we Europeans would have of a home party packed with surfers and their f”lower power” girls was becoming reality right in front of my eyes. haha It was ridiculous, I felt I was in a commercial or something I had a good time, they are alot of fun and extremely friendly and welcoming.
Newcastle is such an interesting city and I can recommend it. We spend the day before and after the party to driving around exploring. And now, like I said earlier, we could not be more tired zzzzzzzzz
