Vivid Sydney recommendations 2017
Apologies for being absent for the last few days! It was well needed, sometimes you just got to take som time and hand out with yourself.
Lets just dive straight back from where we left it shall we!? As I mentioned before, Vivid 2017 is full on here in Sydney. The streets are packed with locals but also tourists who have come here to enjoy these spectacular light shows. What you might not know ( I just found out myself ) is that the city is doing Vivid in order to draw more people out into the streets of Sydney during the winter season. As well as attract tourists that otherwise only consider to visit Sydney during summer.
I think its such an clever idea. It boosts the economy, people interact more and its great marketing for this city.
Here are some information and recommendations from me:
Date: May 26 to June 17
Time: 6PM to 11PM each night
Cost: Vivid is an free event
Public Transport: During Vivid certain roads are restricted for cars. There are 3500 extra public transport services available during Vivid. The ferries are illuminated from 6PM
Food: There are many food-stalls around the city. Most restaurants are open for business. For restaurants with views over Vivid, I strongly recommend to reservation.
Additional Recommendation: Take one the ferries or book The Bridge Climb for the ultimate view experience.Music Box – Cadman’s Cottage, which is one of Sydney’s oldest buildings. Where: The Rocks
Urban Tree 2.0 – Where: Martin Place
The Museum of Contemporary Art – Where: Circular Quay
Future City – Where: Chatswood CBD
Birds of Lumos – Where: Royal Botanic GardenFor more information click Here

Vivid Sydney
We are just back from our first Vivid night ! It was really good except the millions of people everywhere…. More about Vivid in Sydney tomorrow. Thought I was gonna give you some tips on the best spots to get to see Vivid.
Anyway, back home now and this is all we had at home so this was our dinner. It also happens to be 2 of my favorite dishes. Ambrose did not like it at all.
Its frozen spinach heated up with a bit of chicken stock and a soft boiled egg. And 2 minute chicken noodles with one teaspoon sour cream, tarragon and lots and lots of lemon / lime. Its so damn yummy. Nobody believes me when I tell them but it is, I promise hahahSomehow I feel a bit sick again! I just got over one cold the other week and now again. So Im back in bed resting. Made myself and Ambrose tea with honey and lemon to get better. So nice to just get to chill sometimes, don’t you think?

How to develop useful skills
Oh my God! I don’t mean to sound like a grandma but there is so much good and valuable information on the Internet. I feel like I need more that the 24h we are given to actually be able to go true things I am interested in!
Right now my current interests (obsessions) are: 1. Web development, and 2. Self development.
There are some amazing people out there who are taking the time to teach people like myself how to increase our skills in those areas. Two that I personally want to thank and I am learning so much from within the two areas I mentioned are
Robert Mening at WebsiteSetup. If you want to learn more about web development click HereAnd Carrie Green at Female Entrepreneur Association.
For more on Self development within female entrepreneurship click HereNow, what I was suppose to come back and tell you yesterday, but I didn’t. Apologies for that!
So I had booked myself on a online Masterclass with a woman called Christie Marie Sheldon. In this Masterclass Christie Marie goes true 6 steps where she explains how we can “Unblock Abundance”. In step 4 she does a kind of meditation you follow in order to get your subconscious mind to release those limiting beliefs you might got from when you were a child. Those beliefs that can limit us when we have a goal we want to reach.
I will say this. This is definitely NOT for someone who are not open to new and alternative stuff. Even I who am very interested in all this was a bit skeptic after this class. If you are interested have a look Here and judge for yourself.Got to run now, acting class soon and I need to study my lines !!!

Bondi beach Before sunrise
We just got back from Bondi beach. Ambrose and I dragged ourselfs there early this morning and I can tell you this, it was not easy to leave a warm nice bed at 5 AM. But like always, totally worth it when you do.
I really want to program myself to need less sleep, about 6 hours per night should do it. I don’t believe in this “you need at least 8 hours sleep nonsense” You get so much more time to get things done if you skip an hour or two of sleep.
It was still dark when we arrived, wintertime and all. And the waves were huge! Ambrose and the other surfers looked tiny trying to concur those massive waves. Have a look here if you want to learn to surf.
I took some pictures, maybe they can inspire you to get up a bit earlier? xx

fairlight
Saturday and we got ourselfs out of bed quickly and up to Crowsnest for some organic coffee and a stroll around in the sun! We luckily also remembered to get to Wollies and pick up some groceries…we always seem to forget that nowadays. Around 1 o’clock it was time to pack up the car with picnic stuff and head to Manly. We were a small little gang of 10 that were determined to enjoy our Saturday with a BBQ at the beach. We all met up at Heath’s place and drove off in a couple of cars to this pretty place called Fairlight.
Love Saturday’s like this 🙂

5:30am
Good morning! Woke up around 5am and sure enough we were going to the beach in the dark! Ambrose was of course ready in 5 seconds as always when he is going to do anything that have to do with the ocean. I on the other hand thought I was gonna die, soooo damn tired because a mosquito keep biting me all night so did not get enough sleep for 5 am adventures.
I guess winter is coming because the sun did not came up and we drove the 30 minutes to Narrabeen in the dark. The sky just lit up a tiny bit as the boys were walking in to the water as you can see from the last picture. My favorite picture of today I have to say.
The reason why I agreed to join them was to start my day by swimming in the ocean. My uncle always tells me how good it is to swim in cold water, especially salt water. Mixing that with staring your day as the sun goes up. Well, everyone who knows me knows by now surely knows I love these things. But there were some crazy waves and not hot at all at 6 in the morning so I skipped it. I tried to meditate, I mean what better location for that, sunrise in your face, sound of the ocean and nobody around. But I got nothing, it all felt like an effort so I just stopped and sat there.
I don’t know why but oceans just don’t give me that …satisfaction it gives to others. I am much more forest and mountains kind of person. It was fun explaining to Ambrose on the drive home that I don’t see peoples obsession with living by the ocean. He is one of those people. -
Catching up with pretty little Saf
I finally got to see a friend from the old days. Not going to say the”good” old days because I loved things then, and I also love things now! But it was really so good to catch up with her. She is such a kind, generous and fun friend and I’ve missed those days when we did these sort of stuff ; sit on the Bondi grass discussing life.
On my way home that day I realized that one quality I value in a friend is their ability to handle deep talks about life and mixing it up with unimportant stuff such as the latest goss 🙂
I mean, if you one have one or the other you die or boredom! Or at least I would haha. And Safae has that quality. And I love that about her. After sitting “traditionally” on the grass for a while we moved over to The Bucket List where we have spend countless hours over the years. Its still very much the same ; beautiful people who spent a hell of a lot of time trying to look like they haven’t made any effort at all Hahaha. So nice…
We ordered in bottle of vine and then Cecile and her partner came by for a late lunch of buckets of fresh prawns, fish tacos and barramundi burgers. Forgot how good the food is over there! One of the things that always come up is whether or not we would move back to the “Bubble”…
There is something about this place that is hard to explain for those who have not lived there. Me and Safae tried our best and the only thing we could come up with is that its like this place has an mist of magic over it ( please understand that my English is shit and me explaining things is a bad mix of Persian,Swedish and Italian and then putting into English words! )
Bondi is like Disney land. Its not real. That s what I mean when I say mist of magic. It kind of lures you in to believe that its all wonderful when in fact, honestly I have never met so many damaged and depressed people in any other country or place I lived. Don’t get me wrong. IT IS wonderful and I had some of my best memories ever from the time I lived here. I just believe that coming here and believing this place don’t have any ugly side is totally and utterly wrong.
And I think one of the reasons is that this place is stupidly beautiful, the beach, the restaurants, the people, the homes, the shops, the views.
And everyone and everything is trying their hardest to maintain this image. The image of absolute perfection. And that’s where it goes wrong. That’s where people secretly start to feel bad. because nothing and no one can keep up “perfection” forever. Isn’t perfection all of it anyway ? The good, the bad and the ugly? Isn’t that what is Life?
And trying to fake that…well I guess the “Bubble” then inevitably burst.Yeeezzuuuss Christ this was the most depressing writing ever! Hahaha!!
Please go to Bondi Beach. I loved it and you will love it too for sure!
Its truly a wonderful place and I love that I can call it one of my “home’s” in the world.♡♡♡♡♡♡_______________________________________________

2017
So even we said farewell to 2016 and welcomed 2017. Together with our friends, 95% humidity and a crazy heat, at The Coogee Pavillion.
As we were not at our apartment rooftop we missed the spectacular Sydney fireworks at midnight but we did see the 9 o’clock one and I loved loved loved it! Every time I see fireworks I get more obsessed by it. Know they cost alot, know they are “unnecessary” and I do know they scare animals. Just cant help being so damn mesmerized by it…
The last minutes into the countdown was a bit dramatic and maybe not as planed but who cares. Got to spend it with great people, my love and at a beautiful place.
We ended the night (and started the first hour of 2017) with greasy Opotro burgers and fries, a little fight at the taxi line with some random little stump of a man before crashing into Bart & Karli’s apartment, loudly and intoxicated. The next day I woke up from pain in my arm. Ambrose slept on the floor right under the couch I saw sleeping on. And because we are nerds and clearly not used to sleep separately we had somehow held hands like 2 weird otters half the night apparently.
I woke up before everyone else, like usual. Had a shower and then Karli made us all the restaurant quality breakfast. Kind of wish I had pictures to show how great it looked! And I guess their tradition is to go to the beach and swim. I do get it though, what else do you do in this heat mixed with humidity!?!
Bart slept, Kappa and Ambrose have ants in their pants and cannot stay relaxed at one place for more than 10 min so they swam, and then walked off to, well do whatever ADHD peope do. I just stayed on my beach towel learning about natural remedies and herbs from Karli.
Going to try some of the stuff she recommended and get back on how well it worked.Wish everyone have the best start on 2017 🙂
